About Us

Stockbridge Pipe Band was formed in 1994. The Band began competing at the Major Championships in 2006 and was promoted from G4B to G4A in 2008. In 2009 the Band was again promoted from G4A to G3B and at the beginning of 2010 formed a G4B Development Band. Our G3B band is currently under the direction of Pipe Major Euan Whitmore and Drum Sergeant Andrew McCaig. Our G4B band is currently under the direction of Pipe Major Blair Milne and Drum Sergeant Shane Finnegan.

Our primary goals are:

to encourage the continued development of the Stockbridge Pipe Band, both musically and as an established community organisation within Stockbridge
to encourage the appreciation of Scottish music both locally and internationally
to provide a community focus and an opportunity for social interaction for all ages
to provide instruction to all ages in piping and drumming

To help achieve these goals, we compete at Major Pipe Band Championships and local competitions. We also participate in parades and charity events and perform for corporate hospitality entertainment throughout Edinburgh and Scotland.

We are continually searching for experienced musicians who wish to participate in the Band’s varied schedule throughout the year. In addition to this, we have developed a structured tuition programme and are able to provide experienced tuition for beginners of all ages and abilities in both piping and drumming.
